Does this product permanently disable Automatic Engine Stop ?
It automatically disables Auto Engine Stop for as long as it is installed. It can be removed in around 3 minutes to restore Auto Stop operation if desired.
How hard is installation?
Installation is easy. Simply plug it into the connector near the battery negative terminal, add one nut and a Velcro patch. We even include the correct wrench for the nut. You can preview the simple installation instructions HERE.
Does vehicle operation change in any other way with this module?
No, It is the same except the Auto Stop feature is disabled.
Will the product work with the vehicle's Remote Start option (if equipped)?
Yes, it works with Remote Start with NO restrictions. This is an improvement over our first generation product.
Will the product cause any vehicle faults?
No, it does NOT cause any vehicle faults, warning messages, warning lights, stored fault codes or warning tones.
Does this product affect my warranty?
Per the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can only deny a warranty claim when an aftermarket component is installed if the dealer or manufacturer can prove that the aftermarket component caused the failure. To avoid any possible question ever arising from lack of knowledge of this product by the servicing dealer, we recommend removing the module prior to bringing the vehicle in for any service.
Will this product affect the performance or reliability of my vehicle in any way?
We are experienced developing Auto Stop override devices. We have carefully and extensively tested this product on multiple vehicles. There is no evidence whatsoever it will cause any problems.

Do you resell product imported from China?
No! Our product is designed by an experienced electronics engineer in the USA. It is designed professionally to automotive standards with premium components to withstand under hood temperatures and vibration. Electronic components are from major US, Western European or Japanese manufacturers. Circuit board assembly is performed by a top tier third party manufacturer in Canada. Final assembly, and test is performed here in the US. Support is also provided locally here in the US.
Can I buy this product anywhere else?
SmartStopStart sells primarily retail to vehicle owners directly through on this website, but third party sellers sometimes carry certain products. We do not sell through Amazon or eBay. Purchases will be made through PayPal (credit cards are fine) and PayPal provides purchase protection. We also support all of our customers directly and will happily refund your money or replace your unit if you are not satisfied for any reason.
How long will my order take to arrive?
In most cases, orders are dispatched within 48 hours (and often much less).
US orders ship via Priority Mail. Priority Mail usually takes 2 days for shipping to major US metropolitan areas. Other US areas typically take 3 days for Priority Mail shipping. You should expect a shipping notification from PayPal with a tracking number.
Outside the US orders are shipped by First Class mail. Expect 1-2 weeks for shipping to Canada, and western Europe, although sometimes customs delays can add a few more days. Other countries might take longer.
Why can't these modules be sold or used in California?
The California Air Resources board requires automotive aftermarket products to go through an approval process. At this time, this product has not been submitted for approval.
What is your warranty?
We offer your money back for 90 days if not satisfied. After that, if the unit fails to perform, it will be replaced free for 3 years.
How long has your company been in business?

I see the module plugs into the battery sensor. Will it affect the battery or charging system?
No, it is designed specifically not to affect the battery or charging system.
Didn't the first generation SmartStopStart product plug into hood switch connector? Why did generation II change to the battery sensor.
This improvement allowed for elimination of remote start restrictions, wider coverage across additional GM vehicles and improved reliability without sacrificing easy installation.
